Founded in 1987
IECnet TodayWith more than 70 select member firms located in 65 countries and in 5 continents, 30 languages, over 2,000 staff and 400 partners, IECnet is evolving with global business in mind. Each member firm is a separate legal entity, qualified and operating under the laws and regulations of its own country. IECnet was ranked 26 in the International Accounting Bulletin 2023 World Survey with a Turnover of US$ 205.5 million. We have been a member of the Forum of Firms since 2009. The Forum of Firms ("Forum") is an independent association of international networks of firms that perform transnational audits. The Forum's objective is to promote consistent and high-quality standards of financial reporting and auditing practices worldwide— bringing together firms that perform transnational audits and involving them more closely with International Federation of Accountants' ("IFAC") activities in audit and other assurance-related areas. |
IECnet's history
How did we get here?
| On 25 September 1987, three accountants, Hervé Abouly (Paris, France), Attilio Cremonesi (Milan, Italy) and Richard Fielz (Luxembourg), decided to create International Eurogroup Consult. At the beginning it was only a little club of experts in tax and accountancy that sensed the need to network internationally. All the member firms were of European origin and, as the majority of the persons were francophone, the group's dominant language was French. Consequently our association was founded in France. The
growth of IEC continued, reaching 45 members in 2007, and the worldwide
exposure got larger. Also internally we changed and became a network of
professional firms. In 2010 the name was changed into IECnet to reflect
these changes and also the membership in Forum of Firms, the
association of international accounting networks, achieved in 2009. |

IECnet Day on 25 September
IECnet in the present and pastIECnet was founded on 25th of September 1987, so we celebrate "IECnet Day" every year on that day. Every year there is a competition among our members: Who organises the most creative idea to celebrate IECnet Day? There have been IECnet cakes, IECnet presentation for employees, donations to charity in the name of IECnet and much more. On the occasion of IECnet's 30th birthday in 2017, the then IECnet Chairman Tobi Smit gave a speech. |
